John C. Coffee, Jr., is the Adolf A. Berle Professor of Law at Columbia University Law School. He is a leading expert on securities regulation and corporate governance. Coffee is the author of numerous books and articles on securities regulation, including The Origins of the Securities and Exchange Commission (1988) and Corporate Governance and Shareholder Activism: A Comparative Perspective (2006).
